Another A-Series Champion Arrives

Here at our shop in Downtown LA, we see a lot of phones come through our doors, and if there's one family of devices we see more than almost any other, it's Samsung's Galaxy A-series. They're the workhorses of the smartphone world—reliable, packed with features, and priced right for millions of people. So, when a new one is announced, our whole team pays attention. The latest model, the Samsung Galaxy A57, has just started making the rounds, and we think it has all the ingredients to be the company's next massive hit, just like its predecessors.

The legacy of this line is impressive. Year after year, these phones dominate the sales charts by offering a balanced experience that resonates with our customers. They aren't always the flashiest, but they consistently deliver where it counts. Based on what we're seeing, the Galaxy A57 is set to continue that tradition. It’s shaping up to be one of the most talked-about phones of the year, and we wouldn't be surprised to see it become Samsung's top seller before long.

Unboxing the A57: What You Get and What You Don't

When our customers get a new phone, the unboxing is part of the excitement. For the Galaxy A57, Samsung has kept things pretty streamlined. Inside the box, you'll find the essentials to get you started: a USB-C cable for charging and data transfer, along with a SIM tool to get your service up and running. The phone itself comes in a great selection of colors, officially named Awesome Navy, Awesome Gray, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac. It’s a nice palette that offers something for everyone, from classic and understated to bright and expressive.

The starting price has been confirmed at $450, or €430 for those in Europe, placing it squarely in that competitive mid-range sweet spot. However, one thing is conspicuously missing from the box: a charging adapter. This is a trend we've been seeing across the industry. While it helps reduce e-waste, it also means that our customers need to have a compatible USB-C power brick ready to go. If your old charger isn't powerful enough, you might not get the fastest charging speeds the A57 is capable of. It’s a small detail, but an important one for the day-to-day experience of owning a new device.

As a repair shop in Downtown LA, we see firsthand how changes like this affect the devices people bring in every day.
