A damaged HDMI port often causes a black screen or “No Signal” even though the console powers on normally — on PS5, PS5 Slim, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PS4 alike. On Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, ROG Ally and other handhelds, the USB-C port takes the same abuse: a loose cable, no charging, or no picture in the dock.
At FIXSTORY in Downtown Los Angeles, we inspect the port under magnification and test the connection before replacing parts. When the port is the cause, the damaged connector is removed and a new one is installed with precision micro-soldering. We then test picture output, charging and connection stability before pickup.

A console that becomes extremely hot, runs loudly, shows a temperature warning, or shuts down during gameplay usually has a cooling problem. Most often the liquid metal or thermal putty between the chip and the heatsink has dried out and no longer moves heat away — and dust buildup, fan condition and heatsink blockage all need to be checked, not guessed.
Our PS5 liquid metal service ($120) includes diagnosis of the cooling system and replacement of the dried-out liquid metal and thermal putty — about every 3 years is the right interval, and the job takes at least 3 careful hours. Add a full deep cleaning for just $30 while the console is open (normally $120) — and if your console is in for another repair, liquid metal and deep cleaning together add just $50. The console is reassembled and tested under load before it is released.
Turning off during graphics-heavy games can be an overheating symptom, but it may also point to a power or board problem. We inspect the console first so the correct repair is performed.
