Finding what the drop really did
With the broken screen off, the frame gets checked corner by corner. This one had taken the impact right on the edge — the aluminum was pushed in just enough that a new screen would never sit flush there. Miss this and you find out three weeks later, when the fresh screen cracks from a bump that should have been nothing.
The corner goes back to its original angle
The phone is clamped into a corner-straightening jig that presses the bent aluminum back in a controlled, even motion — no hammering, no prying. One to two minutes and the corner is back to the angle it left the factory with, ready to hold a screen flat — the before-and-after below is this exact corner, minutes apart. A straight frame also means the phone takes the next drop better, because impacts spread evenly instead of concentrating on a raised edge.
New OLED on, sealed and tested
With the channel straight and cleaned, the new aftermarket OLED is connected, tested before it is sealed — display, touch, True Depth camera and brightness — then bedded down on fresh adhesive. It seats flush at every corner with no pressure points, which is exactly the point of step two. The photo at the top of this post is the phone back on its lock screen minutes later.

The new OLED sits level with the frame on all four corners — no lifted edge, no spot that clicks when pressed. Display, touch, Face ID and cameras all checked out, and nothing on the phone was wiped: photos, apps and settings stayed exactly as they were.
