My Samsung Phone Has a Virus—Ads Keep Popping Up and Asking Me to Pay for a Cleaner App. Can It Be Fixed?

I use a Samsung Galaxy phone, and for the past few days, ads have been appearing constantly whenever I use the phone. Full-screen ads sometimes pop up even when I am not using the internet, and I keep seeing warnings saying that my phone has a virus and that I need to install or pay for a cleaner app.
Even after I close the ads, they come back again a short time later. It has become difficult to use the phone normally for calls, text messages, and other apps. The phone has also become much slower, and I think there may be some apps installed that I do not recognize.
I have important photos, contacts, and other data on the phone, so I would prefer not to do a factory reset unless it is absolutely necessary.
Is it possible to remove the virus, malicious apps, or pop-up ads from a Samsung or other Android phone without deleting the data?
Also, do you provide similar services for iPhones that keep showing strange pop-ups, notifications, or calendar spam?
